Class of 2022 crosses the finish line after an unprecedented four years

Sacramento State students found ways to thrive and succeed while learning to navigate unprecedented detours caused by upheaval in society, politics, and nature. A record number of students - 9,435 - graduated, joining the Hornet alumni family.

Wearing rain ponchos, marchers walked the two-mile route around campus in honor of those who took their own lives and those who continue to suffer from afflictions such as depression and bipolar disorder.

Updating student teachers’ approach to STEM

Participating in the federal grant-funded STEM-POWER program at Sac State, teachers visited the University's garden as part of learning new STEM teaching approaches to share with aspiring educators. Read more.

Impact of DACA at its 10th anniversary

As the DACA program turns 10, the United States still lacks permanent immigration reform. “DACA has been a very effective program, and it changed my life,” shared Erik Ramirez, Sacramento State's Equity and Affinity Director. Read more.Read more.

Career pathways in engineering and health care

Sacramento State will be part of a new partnership to create a regional pipeline for more students to pursue engineering and health care careers while addressing inequity in higher education and the workforce. Read more.
